The idea of the project is talking about the concept of 200 grams expressed by using the standard language of weight measure. I’m trying to think about where are the limits of these seemingly static 200g; so I started looking for a 200g stone. I didn’t want to create an object but to look for it on my sorrundings. I chose a stone, thought of as a organic element, because I think it communicates the idea of weight.
Then I tied it from the ceiling using a rope. It hanged till almost touches the floor. So we can feel the weight of the stone. It swings gearless, just as a combination of the weight with the movements that take place in the room when the spectators walk through the room. The 200g are not just a measurement but an experience that the public can feel. They become visual poetry.
Next step was looking for two stones that together weighted 200g. I hanged them from the ceiling too, one very close from the other. These two stones moved randomly and sometimes they touched each other making a sound. At the end those 200g weren’t just a measurement anymore.
